BETHESDA TOURNAMENT RULES:

Rules will be as established by the Bethesda Lacrosse Association www.bethesdalacrosse.org as noted. 

1.    Players may compete for only ONE team during the tournament.  Any player found to be playing on two teams will cause a forfeit for both of the teams they participated with.  Any team that uses an illegal player at any time in the tournament will be suspended immediately.  There will be roster checks throughout the entire tournament.  Please have the roster you submitted at the start of the season available for inspection - upon request. Bethesda League coaches also need to provide rosters with name, birthdate and jersey numbers

 

2.    Seedings for the tournament were determined by division league games only.  No Intra-League games were counted toward seedings. (does not apply to Tyker Division)

 

3.    Tyker Division  Seedings were done based on the strength of the Teams – as determined by the League Commissioner – based on strength of schedule and results during the regular season.  The bottom 5 Teams are playing a separate Consolation Bracket.

 

4.    There will be no stick checks unless requested by the opposing coach, and if the stick is found not to be illegal, the challenging team will be charged a timeout.  If no timeouts remain, a delay of game technical foul will be assessed.

5.    Games will be running on 12 minute running quarters.

 

6.    There will be a “Mercy Rule” for all age groups.   If a Team establishes a lead of 10 goals – the game will be ended by the referee.

 

7.    Sudden victory overtime will be used to decide all ties in playoff games.

 

8.    If there are any questions regarding rules, the referee’s decision on the field will be the final ruling.

 

9.    Any player, coach of fan ejected from a game or field during the tournament will be prohibited from playing, coaching or watching any additional games in the tournament.

BETHESDA LACROSSE INSTRUCTIONAL EVENING CAMP:

This camp focuses on both developing individual skills and teamwork. The camp will focus on player position skills, passing and catching, shooting, ground balls, face-offs, defense, offense, dodging and a basic understanding of team tactics. This camp will be coached by a cadre of Bethesda Lacrosse coaches that will include the overall clinics commissioner Sean Willeford.

This will be an intensive 4 day program that will provide the same skill development that a normal 7 week introductory clinic would provide that is held in the spring or fall.

After successful participation in the summer clinic, players will be eligible to play in the Bethesda Lacrosse League in the fall and will be allowed to register for teams in their age category.

FEE: $150

BIRTHYEARS: 9/1/1997-8/31/06

DATES:  MONDAY, JULY 16^TH THROUGH THURSDAY JULY 19TH

LOCATION:  TILDEN MS-LOWER FIELDS

TIME:  6PM TO 8:30PM

2012 Spring and SUMMER Girl's Lacrosse information

Game 1:  April 1

The Dates for Clinics:
Saturday March 24-May 5
No clinics on April 7.
Introductory Clinic will be held from 10:45am-11:45am.
Scooper Clinic will be held from 11:45am-12:45pm.

Clinics will be at North Bethesda Middle School (8935 Bradmoor Drive, Bethesda, MD) on the LOWER field.

SUMMER CLINICS
We are offering 3 summer clinics at Pyle MS from 6-8pm.
Each clinic costs $160 and girls will need full gear (eye protection, women's stick, and mouthguard).

June 18-21 from 6-8pm at Pyle MS for rising 4th-6th graders.
July 23-26 from 6-8pm at Pyle MS for rising 4th-6th graders.
July 23-26 from 6-8pm at Pyle MS for rising 3rd Graders.
