About Bethesda Lacrosse Association
NOW IN OUR 30TH YEAR! Bethesda Lacrosse is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization established in 1989 to provide an outstanding opportunity for players, ages 5-15, to learn and play lacrosse. We have various lacrosse programs for girls and boys ranging from beginners to year round Travel/Club players.
Our objective is to accommodate as many recreational players as possible, while providing top-notch competitive opportunities for advanced players. Our goal is to give our community youth a great lacrosse experience including life-long lessons of sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership.
Bethesda Lacrosse, formerly the Montgomery Youth Lacrosse Association (MYLA), was established in 1989 in order to provide an opportunity for boys in Bethesda/Chevy Chase and surrounding areas to learn about and play the great game of lacrosse.
Due to rising level of interest in the association's activities, a more formal organization was required. So in 2006, we incorporated as a 501(c)(3) NOT-FOR-PROFIT association under Bethesda Lacrosse.
In April 2009, Bethesda Lacrosse expanded and launched their first Instructional Clinic for girls and in September 2009 our Girls Fall League had its inaugural season.
With over 1,800 players per year and growing, we continue to expand our hallmark programs:
Instructional and Skills Clinics
Spring, Winter and Fall Recreational Teams/Leagues
Our goal is to provide great lacrosse in an environment that prioritizes developmental experience. Please explore our website for more details of specific programs.
We do not receive funding from any sources other than registration fees. We are not associated with any government entities, including Montgomery County.
